Investigators: Agents of S.U.I.T.: Sew Much Trouble by John Patrick Green and Christopher Hastings (illustrated by Pat Lewis) is the third book in the hilarious and wildly popular Agents of S.U.I.T. spin-off series from the Investigators graphic novel universe. Released in February 2026, this middle-grade graphic novel is packed with the series’ signature slapstick humor, clever puns, colorful artwork, and non-stop visual gags.
Overview
The Agents of S.U.I.T. (Society of Unbelievably Important Tasks) are back on a brand-new mission — and this time it’s fashionably dangerous!
When a top-secret fashion show in the city is suddenly overrun by living clothes that have gone rogue (think evil jackets, possessed pants, and a very angry sentient wedding dress), Cilantro the chameleon and Mango the cat are sent undercover as models to investigate. What starts as a simple reconnaissance job quickly turns into chaos when the clothes begin attacking guests and trying to take over the entire event.
The team discovers that a mysterious fashion designer known only as “The Stitcher” has created a powerful thread that can bring fabric to life — and control anyone wearing it. With the help of new agent Marigold (a very stylish moth) and a few familiar faces from previous books, Cilantro and Mango must race against the clock to stop The Stitcher before the entire city becomes a walking wardrobe of doom.
Expect runway disasters, zipper ambushes, button bombs, and plenty of wardrobe malfunctions — all while the Agents try to save the day without blowing their cover.
Character Dynamics
- Cilantro — still the nervous but brave chameleon who can blend into any background (literally). This time he has to model outfits while staying invisible — not easy when you’re panicking!
- Mango — the cool, confident cat who loves the spotlight. She’s thrilled to be on a fashion mission… until the clothes start fighting back.
- Marigold — the stylish new moth agent who brings fabulous flair and some surprising skills with thread and needles.
The friendship between Cilantro and Mango continues to shine with their classic banter and teamwork. The book also deepens the bond between the whole S.U.I.T. team, showing how different personalities come together when the stakes are high (and the outfits are ridiculous).
Key Events
The story moves at a fast, comic-book pace with big action sequences, clever disguises, and laugh-out-loud moments. Highlights include a runway battle, a fashion show turned battlefield, and a final showdown inside a giant sewing machine.Themes include:
- Teamwork and trusting your friends even when things get weird
- Being brave even when you feel invisible
- Creativity and problem-solving (especially when your enemy uses thread and buttons!)
- The fun of fashion mixed with the message that what you wear doesn’t define who you are
Style & Tone
The artwork is bright, expressive, and full of hilarious details — every panel has something funny happening in the background. The humor is silly, pun-filled, and perfectly suited for ages 7–12. It’s action-packed but never scary, making it ideal for graphic-novel fans who love Dog Man, InvestiGators, or InvestiGators: Agents of S.U.I.T.
